Favorit home items

I am a total sucker for fashion and really like sharing my closet with you. However, I also like home design items and I spend endless amounts of time to make our home stylish, homy and a place that reflect us as a family. I want to share some of my favorite home design items with you.  The first item is our KARTELL lamp that we got on sale for half the price. It gives such a cosy and warm light - we always keep it turned on during the dark winter evnings.

This beautiful peace of art was a gift from my parents in laws. It is made by a Icelandic artist Magnús Ó Kjartansson and is called Kogga.

Kähler Omaggio vase is becoming a classic item in every home and it is just such a beautiful vase.

Theis pillow covers are Icelandic design form Lagdur. We got the cover with the raindeers for christmas and found it absoulutlly beautiful and as we had a two tired old pillows back home that could really use an upgrade so we bought the one with the sheep as well.
When you live abroad you soon find that your nationality and your roots mean a great deal in your life and for you identity. We had this wallpaper of your homeland specially made two years ago for our dining room. It always makes a good topic for conversation at a dinner partys as our geust get curious about the island and the country.

My blue theme in the kitchen window. The bell with the towers of Copenhagen was a gift from my mother that she gave it to me the first year I lived in Denmark. The small cup is a Royal Copenhagen Year mug. Their mug has a new design every year and danes tend to give the mug as a present when there is a celebration in peoples life. The mug marks the year of the event. We got ours for our wedding in the year 2007.

This horse always makes me smile. Ingo bought it when we had been living together for a year and I think he felt I was taking over the apartment with all my girly things. So this is Ingo's horse that marks that he has something to say in this household full of girls :)
My mother in law found this picture on a danish flee market and just had to buy it, because it is a picture of a girl in a Icelandic national outfit. The text beneath the picture states in Danish that it is young girl from the area of Möðruvellir in the north of Iceland and that she is wearing her Sunday clothes.
