Regarding my post from Wednesday about Women Magazines making woman feel bad and less about themselvs after reading them. Well, Thursday morning I bought the latest issue of Eurowoman. It is their issue no. 200 and contains all the good stuff - the best shopping tips, endless beauty tips, fashion and a photo series with clothes that are so expensive that I can only dream of having them in my closet.
But the issue also contains
ten fantastic interviews with ten amazing women. I have just absolutely buried myself in the magazine reading the interviews, these women have such an interesting stories to tell.
None of the women have anything in common, they all have different backgrounds and live different lives. There is no glamour, I am perfect, I do
everything right and better then you! It is just regular women telling their
story, there experiences, joy and sorrow. .
They talk open heartily about motherhood, how that change their lives, both the joy and love, but also
how hard it was to become a mother. One says she laid on the couch and cried
out that she didn´t want to be a mother.
They talk about the stress
and difficulty of juggling between family live, keeping a schedule and also
having a fulltime job, where one tells the story of when she one day just sat
down on the kitchen floor and cried.
They talk about their jobs,
their success but also their failures. One of the women just closed her business
and she admits that she loves the freedom and feels so much better now even
though her firm was her identity and her life.
They talk about their age and
death, some of them fear the fact that they are getting older, others see it as
a natural part of life. One said she has had to much red wine in her lifetime
and sunbathed too often, but the reality is, that even though that has
made her look older, that also was the thing that made her enjoy life.
I think we all have our ups and downs and I love
and admire that these women are willing to talk openly about their life and all
thees issues, that every woman has in her life. About motherhood, jobs, not feeling
good enough and getting older. I can relate to all of them. Reading the interviews has made me feel really
good about myself, both my ups and downs.
