Christmas decorations

I have been decorating the house this weekend. I absoulutly love christmas, it is my favorit time of year. Hope you can find some inspiration in my decoration :)

Bowl filled with small christmas ornaments and pinecones

The christmas elf from Arney's kindergarden put up my Georg Jensen's christmas ornaments while we were all sound a sleep :)

A branch with Christmas ornaments made from paper and of course more Georg Jensen's ornaments

New recidents at the ginderbread house :)

Bought this awsome chirstmas tree with lights at the christmas Tivoli last weekend.  The apple candles ware a gift from my mother few years ago and I think they are so pretty that I never want to light them.

The beautiful bird I bought in London in April at an all year round chistmas store and this is its spot every year  - the rest off the ornaments on the branch vary from year to year.

Gingerbread cookies

This weekend we made gingerbread cookies and a gingerbread house. We always make the cookies every year before christmas. It is a family tradition that I grew up with and I love bringing forward to  my girls. But this year was the first time we tried to make the gingerbread house, it was so much fun and I finally got Ingó involved in the process as my building instructor.

Finding the recipe

New christmas dresses

A great long search that started in New York in September, for a new christmas dresses for my girls is finally over. I had really set my hopes up to find some awesome gowns from some great designer brand. I had spent endless time on the web screening every possible webstore I could think of and on every shopping trip to the mall I had my eyes open.
Then last Thursday I was going out for dinner with my friends and I walked past H&M down town and in the window display I saw this beautiful metallic girl dress with a puffy skirt. I was sold !!! Then on Saturday the whole family took a trip down town to H&M and the dress was just perfect for my older girl. And the best part is; it only cost kr. 99,-. The pink dress we bought for the younger girl - it has this beautiful layered skirt and the tuille fabric is covered with tiny golden stars. That one was a little bit more expensive but it also came with an identical mini dress for her doll - so cute!
And the funny thing is, our younger daughter is more of a tomboy than the princess type. She really likes superheros and is hoping she will get a spiderman figure for her birthday. But when I showed her the pink girly dress her face just lit up and when she tried it on she swirled around in circles like a princess. I love the fact that she is open diffrent things in live.

Kings & Queens

Great store in Field´s shopping mall Copenhagen

Went shopping last sunday with my great friend Louise and she just introduced me to a new hidden pearl in the back of my local shopping center - Field's. It is a store called Kings & Queens. I have walked past it so many times and alway thought it was more of a teen fashion store. Boy was I wrong, the shop is huge, bright and spacious and has a great selection of almost all of my favorite brands; Moss Copenhagen - MbyM - Vila - Tiger of Sweden and so much more.  Unfortunately I did not buy anything that day, but i did get to try on my dream jacket form Tiger of Sweden - hope Santa will put it under the christmas tree this year ;)

Guru

A few days ago Ingó and I got our babysitter to get the girls from school and we had a date night. We try to have a date night every two weeks and every second date we go out for dinner. Ingó has been really into Indian food lately and few weeks ago I read an article about the oldest Indian restaurant in Copenhagen Indian Taj had gotten a make over and a new name - now it is called Guru. So we decided to check it out and we ware not disappointed. The dining room had an Indian team that was modern and cohesive, but yet so cosy and welcoming. The color team is copper that goes through the whole restaurant without over doing it.

And the food was so delicious. I am not the same Indian food fanatic like Ingó, as I do not like my food to be too spicy. But the dishes we ordered ware just right, rich in flavour and seasoned just right. The nan bread was just to die for, but maybe I am not totally neutral as I think the best part of Indian food is the nan bread :)

Bluezoo

I love clothes and I have most fun when I go shopping. But it is not just outfits for myself I enjoy buying. I have two gorgeous girls and it is sometimes even more fun to buy clothes for them as every thing looks good on them. Yes, I admit it - I dress them up and I love it. They also like picking out what clothes to wear and we don't always agree on what is a good matching outfit. But I really want them to embrace their individuality and independency so if they put something on they picked out them selves - I always tell them they look good.

Luckily it is still me who buys their clothes so I have a great saying in what they wear and one of my favorite kids brand is Bluezoo. You can buy their products in Magasin in Denmark and Debenhams in Iceland. Their girls line is really decorative with sequences and glimmer and the motives on the clothes are really cool and modern. The use of sequences and glimmer is never over the top and is not too corny as I often find kids clothes to be, especially for girls.
I just bought thees two long sweaters for my girls from Bluezoo. The black one has an owl made of sequences and the white rabbit on the pink sweater is made with furry yarn. It is absolutely adorable.

I also bought some black leggings to go with the sweaters. The brand is called Star by JulienMacDonald. I am not familiar with the brand but saw so many cool items in the girls department at the store I just had to check out their webpage. I was not disappointed as it turns out they also have a women clothing line and home design products that looked really promising. The leggings I bought for my older girl have small black velvet stars which I think is a refreshing change from the regular black leggings.

Another brand I also like is Melton, their clothing lines consist for the most part of socks, tights, hats and gloves for children. Their items are of a really good quality and on my last shopping trip I found these leg warmers from Melton.  I am planing to use them in december in the cold weather as when we go out to all our christmas activities the girls are usually just wearing short dresses and tights.
